When I first heard Nicki Minaj I wasn’t really feelin her lyrics at all. I’ve been suprised by her lately though, and I just heard a song on the radio I really like. Check it out…

I heard this song when I was on Pandora…such a sick track. Sean Kingston has made a few tracks that I really like. He’s got a distinct sound to him. He reminds me of a British rapper (also known as an MC) because of his style…

Anyways, I decided to write about this song because I felt like the beat was catchy, as well as the hook. Kingston sort of reminds me of Flo-Rida also, but I think I prefer Kingston.

    [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6giXgG6qQzo%5D

This song, to me, is great because it has a somewhat positive message…”Don’t be afraid to let go…,” which I take as don’t be afraid to be youself. I love being myself, and I hope that through reading my blogs at least one person will be inspired to be themselves because that’s really the only time you will be truly happy.

Anyways, enjoy this one…let me know what you think.

I am still hoping one or two people will be kind enough to help me keep my sponsorship by getting a free auto quote from Quote Mart.  You can find the link to the right of my blogs. It takes less than 3 minutes and you could save my life.

As a true fan of the world’s greatest game, and a graduated Division 1 athlete, I think it is time to speak the truth about why American soccer is not as popular as the other sports in this country.

    [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbASd5CU3H8%5D

Let’s be honest, if you’re reading this post then chances are you have played soccer, watched soccer, heard about soccer, or seen a soccer commercial. First of all I hate the word soccer because it makes me feel like we’re not even talking about the same sport that I love.

Futbol is the greatest sport in the world, but the majority of people in this country don’t appreciate it because they straight up don’t understand it. We are a high paced society, and unfortunately we are also a simple society…just turn on the radio and listen to some of the garbage that gets played and it’s not hard to believe.

    [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hxD-sMm03g%5D

Without dragging this out, I will say that I feel the reason this sport is not the most popular in this country because people don’t really know how it should be played. Every time I watch it on ESPN the games are dull and lame. They only show two or three games a week, and if even one of those games is a dud then you can kiss that potential fan goodbye forever if they don’t understand the game.

The problem really boils down to how futbol is marketed in this country. It’s all about money in America, and instead of focusing on having fun playing the game and learning to play it properly, people are more concerned with having the coolest shoes, best ball, and all the other unimportant stuff.

It’s simple to me why this happens…a lot of Futbol players in America are soft. They get coached at an early age by their parents who have no idea what they hell they’re talking about, and it turns out looking like a bunch of little kids running around in short shorts with high socks trying to kick a ball up and down the field. Doesn’t sound interesting to me either…and I love the sport.

I have the solution to this problem. The first is that they must start encouraging kids in urban communities to play futbol. In every other country futbol is a sport played by poor and rich. Most players that make it to the pros have come from nothing. They leave their families to work on their game and make a living to provide for their families.

In America, futbol is just about making money. There are so many fees and charges that the only people that can afford to play are the wealthy…it’s sad.

Another problem with futbol in this country is the NCAA. They flat out are the worst thing that could happen to futbol in this country. Without being ridiculous, I feel perfectly okay calling the NCAA America’s Hitler. They basically put rules in place that make no sense, and disrupt the growth of the sport completely. Worst of all, they disrupt the growth for the people who are breaking into the professional ranks, which makes the pro’s worse…

Have you ever wondered why the MLS is not that great of a league, yet the NBA is the best league in the world? It’s because urban communities have basketball courts and people who are less fortunate don’t have to pay $1000 to play for one season. If we really want to see futbol grow in this country, we need to remove the NCAA from futbol…or atleast they need to change some if not most of their rules.

I am pretty passionate about this subject, so I wouldn’t be suprised if I ended up writing another article about this…

Please, share your opinion on the matter…

Have you ever wondered what happened to make people hate everyone else? What I mean is, have you ever walked past someone without giving them a glance?

When you’re at the store do you walk around without making eye contact with anyone?

    [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWuVEhTJPdw%5D

No matter how you answer those two questions, it’s not hard to people watch and see this exact behavior going on any where you look. It’s crazy to say, but people really don’t like to communicate with strangers at all. I’m only asking because I was sitting in Meijer’s parking lot listening to this song, and all I thought to myself was people are pretty cold to one another when there is nothing at stake. What happened to caring about each other as brothers, sisters, and fellow human beings.

People really don’t even give each other so much as a smile, and I think it is this type of behavior that perpetuates hatred and competition.

What’s my point here? I’m just hoping someone will comment back and try to explain why this phenomenon happens even in our own communities. I just want to see people happy, andwalking around with our heads down and not looking each other in the eye is definitely not going to make you happy…unless you like being an asshole.

Maybe it’s because if you say hi to one person, then you feel you have to say hi to everyone, so it’s just easier to focus on what you went to the store first…if anyone is reading this, please let me know what you think.

Don’t forget to check out my sponsor’s link (Quote Mart) please. I really need at least one person to get a free auto quote from them or I could lose my sponsorship…My problem though, not yours. Just hoping someone out there can show some love…Stay warm friends.

I heard this song when I was on Pandora..it’s a badass track with a great hook. Lauren Hill is what made the Fugees that platinum selling group, and in this song it’s clear why.

    [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AvSUCgTgUs%5D

She’s got a distinct sound to her voice, and as soon as I heard this song I couldn’t get the “La, La, La” out of my head…

I don’t want to bore you to death so I figure I will just let you listen for yourself…hope you enjoy this one. Why am I up so late?

Please check out my links (Quote Mart in particular) to my sponsors and my other pages…add me on facebook too. Peace.

Enjoy the track while you read this…

    [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11GYvfYjyV0%5D

I woke up this morning with a feeling of relief at the fact that I was in my own bed, but I was confused because of the dream that seconds ago seemed so real…

From what I remember, I was in England with some friends, and being American we wantd to go to the mall and see the sites as well as the English girls.

We take a bus to the mall from my Aunt’s house, who actually lives in England which is why this dream most likely took place there, and arrive there during the day. No problems… Apparently we had been there for quite some time, because by the time it was time to go, it was already dark. I’m not sure how many minutes or hours had passed, but it seemed like it got dark really quick.

As it started getting later in the evening, I realized that I was seperated from my friends. I had to get back to my Aunts house though, so I jumped on the bus behind a really cute girl.

As the bus takes off, I’m thinking to myself…thank God I made it. It’s about 11 pm according to the clock on the bus, and I realize that if I hadn’t gotten on this bus then I would have been stuck at the mall all night.

About two minutes pass, and we are taking these weird turns down the backstreets of England, and for some reason (besides the fact that I don’t live there) I don’t recognize any of the buildings we are passing. I look up at the front of the bus, and to my dismay I realize I have gotten on the wrong bus. I pull the emergency stop line, and run up to the front of the bus. I don’t remember what I said to the bus driver, but it involved me being on the wrong bus and needing to get off.

I also remember leaving something like a bag or some food on the bus, and I was contemplating going and grabbing it before I got off the bus, but I decided not to hold the bus and its passengers up any longer because they were getting irritated.

As I started walking alone in England, I seemed to be in some dark neighborhood that reminded me of a neighborhood in urban America. It was dark, and the street lights were orange. There weren’t that many, so they were quite ineffective at lighting up the street in the darkness.

I got to the end of the first street I was on, and as soon as I turned right I saw a rather large, black dog coming my way. The dog’s eyes were cloudy and it bugged me out. I tried to keep walking thinking the dog would leave me alone, but it came right up to me and tried to bite me.

Instinct obviously took over at this point, because I remember punching the dog as hard as I could in the face in a call of duty sort of way, except I didn’t break its neck…I know, weird.

This scuffle lasts about 30 seconds, and during the attack I suddenly see someone walking up from behind the dog. As if it vanished into the air, I remember no longer being worried about the dog, and I ask the guy if he knows the route for me to get back to my aunts house.

I can’t remember exactly what he said, but somehow I ended up asking the guy if he had any bud, and then we ended up going back to his house to get my barrings and to smoke a little herb. At this point I had already dug into my pocket and produced a perfectly rolled joint.

As I was sitting at this random guys humble abode, all I kept thinking to myself was I hope this dude just hurries up and takes me back to my aunts house…I was tired, and it was getting late, but being in a shady part of town I didn’t want to fall asleep.

I had no idea where I was, and it felt like it was really late.

I somehow came to the realization that this guy is younger than me, and is just hanging out with a friend of his. The two seemed like troublemakers though, so I remember having my guard up and ready for anything to happen.

I don’t remember why we were just sitting at the kids house smoking, but about 3 minutes after we had been at this dudes house his parents show up while we are smoking pot. Immediately I think to myself, “This is not a good first impression,” so I stood up and walked to his parents to shake their hands.

I then asked his father if he knew how to get back to my aunts side of town because I’m lost. He tells me that I’m about 30 minutes away, and then tells me I can look in the yellow pages for the address so that his son wont get lost when he takes me home.

I remember going into the kitchen to get the yellow pages, and when I came back out the dude and his friend were gone…I checked his room, the room across from his, and another room which was down the hall to the right of his. I was confused and a little frustrated. It felt like I was alone, and in a horrible situation…lost and so far away from anyone that knew who I was. Why was I in this place? What does this mean?

About two minutes pass, and the dudes parents have gone to bed now, so it’s just me in this house in the middle of England. 30 more seconds pass, and then the dude shows up in the room across from his, as if he had climbed in through the window…but I hadn’t seen him leave so I was weirded out by his reappearance.

Keep in mind, the entire time I am dreaming I keep thinking to myself, it’s late…I really can’t fall alseep though….don’t fall asleep. It was like a bad dream, except nothing bad really happened. I was alone, and I was truly lost.

I then remember slowly opening my eyes and realizing that I was right in my own bed in good ol USA. This was a weird experience…and I thought I should write about it so I can share it with others who also might have some weird dreams…

Please don’t forget to check out the link to my sponsor (quote mart) and add me on facebook…peace to anyone that stops by.

First blog ever. Well, it’s good to be here, I will say that. I think it’s appropriate that the first blog I write comes on the last day of the year.

2010 has been an interesting year, to say the least, and musically we were all blessed with the talent of artists like J. Cole, Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, etc…

What I plan to do here with my blogs is review popular music and try to find out what makes the song good and try to promote it a little bit.

The first saw I’ll discuss in this blog is “Say Yeah,” by Wiz Khalifa.

    [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3MIHfZxIdQ%5D

I first heard this song on Pandora, and I really liked the beat because it was originally a techno beat, and Wiz Khalifa shows his artistic style by rapping to it.

Nowadays people are starting to hate hip-hop because all people talk about is violence.

This song, although its lyrics talk about a woman dancing on a pole, has a much less negative vibe to it. This is a song that I would listen to anywhere and think that this was a great song for helping get the mood right.

Wiz Khalifa is sick, and this song is pretty good. Let me know what you think if you have any issues with it. I will try and keep these blogs short and to the point. I will find a song I like, and put it on here and hopefully we can have some intelligent and coherent responses to the songs.

    Happy New Year everyone…

P.S. please check out my link to Quote Mart. I need people to let me know what they think about the web design…and if you have 5 minutes to spare please get a free auto quote. You can find my website on my homepage. Please & thank you! I created it myself and I’d like to make sure everything is working okay.

I first heard Ray Lamontagne when I was watching The Town, starring and directed by Ben Affleck. Just as I was turning my Xbox 360 off because the credits had started rolling I caught myself listening to the song that was playing.

Ray has a distinct sound to him, and it immediately made me search for him on Pandora. This guy is gifted with a guitar in his hands, and his voice is going to take him places. I don’t think I will do him justice by trying to describe his style, so instead I’d rather just give you a chance to listen for yourself.

Here’s the song I started out with…hopefully you appreciate it.
